CHAKRA operates through five strategic verticals, each focusing on a critical area of healthcare education, research, and innovation. These verticals work synergistically to transform medical education and healthcare delivery in Maharashtra.

Faculty Development Academy (FDA)

Vision: To be an exemplary Center of Excellence driving the development of faculty in transforming education, patient care, research, administration and leadership enabling Maharashtra to lead nationally and inspire globally for better healthcare delivery and outcomes

Key Thrust Areas:

Create & deliver four progressive levels of faculty development programs (FDPs) in education, research, admin, IT & leadership domains via blended mode to develop faculty leadership & competence levels
Training Design, Support & Mentorship: Collaborate with vertical and MUHS-affiliated institutions to align existing training towards FDP (L1-4) outcomes and goals
Develop and implement Continuous Quality Improvement measures for self, national & international benchmarking and collaborations aligned to FDA and goals

Digital Health Department (DHD)

Vision: To emerge as a global leader in advancing digital health education, research, and technology fostering a digitally empowered healthcare workforce that in turn enhances healthcare outcome

Key Thrust Areas:

Best curriculum & course content on digital health delivered by leading faculty and is developed in collaboration with premier institutions
Establish partnerships with government agencies, research institutions, and nonprofit organizations that share similar goals
Establish the digital studio and laboratory and upgrade the current LMS with advanced technology to support high-quality digital learning

Simulation Lab

Vision: Learn, Excel and Grow. To empower healthcare professionals by advancing simulation-based training in safe, innovative environments, fostering the development of expert trainers, and driving research and innovation in simulation technologies

Key Thrust Areas:

Organize advanced simulation-based workshops to enhance the skills of undergraduate and postgraduate students, nurses, and faculty members
Provide hands-on training for participants to effectively manage a variety of emergency situations within a safe and controlled environment
Support research and development of new training task trainers, mannequins, and software

Clinical Trial Unit

Vision: To enable Maharashtra to become a national leader in conducting Integrated, Ethical and Impactful translational Research through interdisciplinary clinical trials across all the health sciences

Key Thrust Areas:

Operating as an integrated multicentric clinical trials and research ecosystem with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) affiliated colleges & institutes
Implement & govern a tri-party governance model involving the Sponsor, and trial sites for integrated multicentric clinical trials and research projects
Provide ongoing, project-specific and domain-focused training and mentoring for site teams to ensure continuous clinical trial and research preparedness

CHAKRA Innovation Cell

Vision: CHAKRA Innovation Cell is the healthcare innovation and incubation centre, envisioned to be India's premier healthcare innovation hub that accelerates transformative, clinically validated ideas into market-ready, tech-enabled healthcare solutions. It serves as a bridge between academia, clinicians, and industry by nurturing doc-preneurs and early-stage innovators across MedTech, HealthTech, and digital health domains and make them market ready.
